Challenge Scholars

Chair: Joan Wright

  • The Challenge Scholarship committee is charged by the officers and directors with continuing the excellence of selection and follow through that has been evidenced by the community in the past. The scholarship has been a strong part of the Sunrise club’s winning top club in the district for a number of years.

New members to the committee should be advised that the scholarship is not a conventional "reward the deserving" type of award. Rather, Sunrise has chosen to offer the chance of reward to students who are at risk of failing to complete high school. As such the experience of interviewing and selecting candidates for the scholarships is both rewarding and challenging.
