"Welcome to Wenatchee Sunrise Rotary!" Every Tuesday at 7:00 am at the Wenatchee Red Lion, you'll hear that friendly phrase, accompanied by a warm smile and a handshake. In the following pages, you'll learn a bit about our club, our members, our projects, and the wonderful world of Rotary. This year we have a new program to help those in need in our local community. These projects will be quick one or two day projects which may take one or many Sunrise Rotarians to complete. Our first project was building a wheel chair access ramp for a man who had been trying for months to get one built. Start of the project. P.J. working hard! Going for a test ride! A great start to this new avenue of service. Rotary is all about service. As you read through these pages you will see service to many people from children to the elderly, from a one person local project to the Polio Plus campaign that is immunizing millions of children world wide against Polio and four other childhood diseases. Apple Century Ride - Our Major Fundraising Event Check out this year's Apple Century Ride and be sure to register online before the May 20 early-bird cutoff date! Check out our new commerative Jersey on this site! Entry fees include T-shirt, all pit stop food, beverages, and the Finish Line Feast. Funds raised go to help needy individuals and families in our community and our world, including the Challenge Scholarship Program for "at-risk" students. Ski Race Challenge - Another Fun Sunrise Event Each year in March we hold the Sunrise Rotary Ski Race Challenge at Mission Ridge Ski Resort. The resort is located just 20 minutes from downtown and the event is open to all individuals and families but the team challenge is between all service clubs.
